Almost lost a motor due to my choke shaft breaking. I was wondering why my ski wasn't always hitting well and didn't feel as snappy.. Half the time the choke was slightly engaged. It broke right at the screw and the screw was loose. Thankfully I caught it early before it fell and ruined my motor. Gave me no reason but to ditch the choke assembly I don't ever use and no lie, I think removing the choke plate and shaft alone made a solid increase in power.

Of all people why do you have a choke at all. Isn't that the first thing people remove from their skis???

I don't use choke or have a cable and I've never needed a primer. Ski always starts up instantly. Never felt it was worth the hassle to remove my choke plate. Wasn't doing any harm until now.
