Half a bottle of Mother’s Aluminum Polish, 2 elbows, half a box of rags and 3 hours later, the OCD bench is looking like it should have prior to me ever etching my logo into it.
I hit all the open areas with a 6” 3M finishing pad, then hand sanded it even finer with a scotch pad. The etching is deep enough to survive hand sanding and the polishing but not nearly deep enough to survive the 3M disc.
The Mother’s cakes up the micro fleece polishing disc pretty fast so once loaded up, it becomes pretty useless. I found water helps the process so I drug everything outside and did the last three passes wet. Made a mess of the driveway but the bench top looks good.
