Only time you will be in your room is to sleep or get thrown in bed by total strangers after you passed out somewhere. So, room quality really does not matter. Makai was a dump but fit the bill.

Dirtona! While riding up in the elevator last year, An old guy walks in, looks at me and says, You here with this jet ski thing? I say yes. He looks at me and says " I haven't smelled this much weed since Vietnam" He laughed, got out of the elevator and said enjoy the weekend!

Grand Seas has definitely been the best hotel, both for the rooms and the deck for the vendors, and I hope we can get back there at some point, but the ocean breeze was still a solid step up from the Makai. Thanks for posting the hotel info.

No, You still have to pay for the beach access, this has nothing to do with the ride.

As long as you get on the beach right when they open the gate you won’t get charged. In the last two years I have never had to pay.
