Super Jet When did HighRoller start working for RRP?

I decided to put the turd back on the other night and it turns out my bushings grew while I had the pole off. So I filed them down again so the handle pole would fit between the bracket. I also bought the spacer so I could run a tighter bolt. Turns out that didn't fit and needed some dremel work to make it fit. Big surprise.

Last year I bought a RRP turn plate and bearing system. Spent about $225 on it. Real nice looking piece. Didn't come with a grease zerk which it was suppose to and no instructions. No big deal I found a grease zerk and I was positive I could figure out how it all goes together. I go to bolt up the steering arm to the plate and the first bolt goes right in. I couldn't get the second bolt to go in. When I took a closer look at the arm and plate the Fu%king hole is off by an 1/8 inch or so!! Sweet now I have a $225 turd to match my $1000 turd.

Doing the happy dance.....Doing the happy dance.....Doing the happy dance.....Doing the happy dance.....Doing the happy dance.....:Banane01:

I'm convinced HighRoller works in QA department at RRP.

i have installed about 10 of the rrp steering set ups. every one worked out fine. where did you buy your parts from? they come in a blister pack with the instructions in it. was your package open?

I think I bought it from thrust innovations but I'm not sure. I picked it up last year. I don't think I even have the receipt so it's not like could even return it if I wanted to. I thought about selling it but it would be useless if you can't bolt on the steering arm. The second hole is just barley off.

hey nick, im pretty sure that how rrp works is that if you bought it off a dealer and you have a problem, the warranty is with the dealer not rrp

if anyone has any issue with any atp parts they get from me, the warranty is with me

for example i had a billet pole brought in for a customer, anadoised red ends, canada customs damaged it, i replaced the complete pole at my cost

I understand. But I bought it a long time ago and I don't even remember who I bought it from. Thrust I think but I'm not too sure about that. Might of picked it up from Blowsion I don't know. The steering system is brand new and not damaged.

That will teach me to throw away receipts before checking to see if the parts line up.

It is fixable I think. If you lined up the arm on the plate and drilled and tapped a bigger hole it might work. Point is for a $225 steering system I shouldn't have to modify anything or very very little to make it work. Or I guess I could see if I could send it to RRP and have them machine it to make it work or replace the steering arm. Which would probably be easiest.

Anyways I'm done with RRP products....I'm moving on to bigger and better quality parts.

so is this stuff forsale? i have a friend thats going to buy a rickter and needs a pole and steering

im sure i could file the bushing enough to get the pole to work if you hate it that much

lmk

pole is already sold

If he wants to take a chance with the steering plate I'm sure we could work something out. But if he wants it he needs to know its going to take some work to make it fit together.

I still have the steering system. I haven't put it up for sale yet. I sent an email to RRP about but I'll be surprised if I hear anything back. I'm waiting to see what they say.

Did a little grinding, a little filing, some dremel work and got it to bolt up. I think RRP products should come with free dremels and files. Jesus Christ.

Its in the for sale section if anyone is interested.

you were better off withOUT the zerk......grease on assembly and its good to go..

ive been recommended to remove the zerk and cap it by well known builders....

Well its too late for any of that crap now. I'm washing my hands of RRP products. The last RRP piece on my ski is my lower bracket and when I get some extra money together down the road it is going away as well.

It is strange that every rick roy part that I have bought needed to be worked over with a dremel before it would fit right. I guess you don't really get what you pay for.

every rrp part ive seen has been top notch, ive only really heard of the cast poles breaking the pad peice and they have went billet because of it

i find it VERY odd that everything you get is messed up since in sure they do more then just 1 run of parts unless they make a run just for one very speacial guy

You should try and remember that A/M companies are not real big like yamaha or kawasaki. It is tough to produce small amounts of parts and have supreme quality control without the price going beyond the value. my rule of thumb is expect to tweak it. If you cannot get it to work at all then that is b.s. I usually swear/curse the product and then get out the tools to make it right. We do pay alot for our parts so if you can see/try the part before you buy, then you can at least learn what to expect. I think that RRP is of the higher production runners in hulls and other parts right now so i would expect higher quality, and demand it. I am sure if you had super major issues that are a manufature defect, he would replace it no problem.

Dont buy it, there is no reason why they could not have a jig to check and see if all holes lined up.
