Where are the FAQ's?

I'm weighing the pros and cons of purchasing a stand-up. It's taking a long time to develop foundational knowledge by browsing this forum. I would greatly appreciate guidance to resources on the internet for those new to the sport. Thanks in advance.

Highly recommend you stay away from this addictive money pit hobby and this site...it's like the crack cocaine of all hobbies, somebody help me....run the other way while you can !

Jonathan, buy one! It was the best decision I ever made. A lot of guys recommend superjets because they can grow with you as your skills increase because you can keep modifying them with the thousands of aftermarket parts available. A lot of new people will be tempted to buy a 650sx because they are cheap and easy to come by. They are great beginner skis, and I actually still own one myself for when friends come to the lake. The only problem in my eyes with those skis is that they aren't worth putting money into, if that is a direction you forsee yourself going in. That being said, my first ski was a 650sx that I bought for 800, I rode it for 1 season and sold it for 800. I basically rented it for free for a year then bought a superjet. The main thing isn't what ski you get, but that YOU GET A SKI!

I've been in the sport for two years, been through four stand up skis already, lol. It is the best water sport around by a far. You won't regret a stand up purchase, but your future bank account might.

I see owners on this forum worrying over the availability of engine parts in the future. Is this a concern with the OEM's or the after market engines from DASA, Xscream, or others?

I feel that part availability problems are in the far of future and is nothing to worry about now. I recommend going with a round nose superjet or a FX1 so when you have progressed and you're ready to buy a aftermarket hull everything can be moved over and they are easy to mod and a ton of fun!

There is a tech section that helps with a lot of specific issues. Search will help you find a lot of answers. I find it easier to type my key words into google search and include x-h2o.com as one of my key words.
