Where did you buy yours?

Thanks for the info guys.

It really seems there's a big difference between functionality and legality.

Where's the happy medium? Argh!

I'd like to get a gov't approved can, just to avoid the legal issues. I don't mind a can if it pours slow (as long as it's not annoyingly slow...) as long as it doesn't LEAK. Leaky cans annoy the hell out of me.

I've fueled with my "non-approved" can while talking with a cop and he didn't care. The only time I've been griped at was for using a blue one, since apparently those should only be used for kerosene. Seems like as long as it's red no one will care, unless you're in the People's Republic of California, then all bets are off.

The valved cans like the one posted above was dreadfully slow. That and the cap doesn't seal any different from the regular Blitz gas cans. The only difference is the valve in the spout.

I hate carb cans. Govt regulation at it's worst. The ones I've used always spill and are super slow. I've never spilled a drop out of a can with a flexible hose. I don't know who's a bigger idiot the legislators who passed the law to require them, or the stupid designer who made a product that does the exact opposite of the intended purpose.

Utility jugs are great. I have scribners at least 10 years old that are fine.

If you can't get a regular hose like the one above go to Home Depot and you can buy the pieces to make one.

More gas goes on the outside of the tank with those carb cans than the inside. Vp cans with a 2ft hose for me. The fish thank me.

are you worried about the police checking your gas cans for CARB compliance?

buy the cans you like and use them.

the feds only made manufacturers stop making the old style can - they didn't say we had to stop using them.

Lots of good feedback, thank you!

I'm not "worried" about it, but I'd like to be as compliant as possible. If the newer cans are such a PITA and they spill all over - I don't understand why the rule is still in place.

do you have an aftermarket exhaust on your ski? Most likely - it is "for race use only" - Ask how many people on here run B-pipes not while in a race.

trying to be "as compliant as possible" on gas cans - is just plain silly.

I won't use those.
I got the old style with vents.

Some Schuck's Auto Supply stores around here still sell them.

I had to buy 2 of the carb spout gas cans 2 years ago because the wawa guy would freak out about my black Jaz cans. They are the worst cans ever. Last year I got the red Jaz cans that say "water". he still hasn't noticed.

why waste 30 bucks on a gas can they all do the job....just mabye a little slower

these arent slow at all if you know what to do.
Screw a screw into thetop side across from the spout. Make sure to use a screw that can be removed by hand, and just take it off real fast to vent, then back on. Simply and saves lots of time and trouble (till you drop the screw)

LOL!

I know, it's stupid. But I want to have good gear when I'm out riding. I'm new to the sport and I wanted opinions on all the tools everyone uses. I've been able to find other threads on things like wetsuits and life vests. This way, I don't have to fight the same headaches that others have already been through. :)

Lol, it's nice to know that my threads are like a train wreck - you can't help but watch! :)

I think my next thread should be about beach carts...haha

I can't believe I just wasted my time reading this thread, or for that matter replying to it.

Make sure you get some midol, vagisil & maxi pads for those heavy days:baby:
