I would suggest you delete this post and do as much research as possible on the internet. Or maybe find someone here from michigan that can help you.....people dont take kindly to illegal talk of switching HINs and that stuff.
You run can Hull IDs through the WI DNR site if you know how. They only keep records of stuff that was previously registered in WI though. It's pretty crazy, you can see all of the previous owners address and contact info. You have to have registered vehicles in WI to do the lookup. Maybe your state is the same?
if the skis are MI skis, you can go stand in line at the DMV for 30 minutes and i am sure the fat lady behind the counter could tell you if it is clean, stolen, salvage with just the VIN.
out of curiosity, Does Michigan Title skis/boats like Illinois does? WI does not title them, you just register them with the DNR, no affiliation with the DMV.
yes, we title everything in MI. Its easy, even if the seller lost the title all you need is clean VIN# and a bill of sale and they give you a new title.
