I can watch the motosurf racing only because they are getting huge air and stuff, i wouldnt really be rooting for anybody to win but instead for somebody to get some nasty air....which is basically what freestyle is all about :hitwithrock:

I gotcha. Well go over to PWCToday and watch the 2003 Motosurf National Tour in the following thread:

http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?t=68444

After you do that explain to what is boring about watching that. Not trying to be a smart a$$, but racing is pretty freaking cool to watch especially the ski and sport classes. Runabout maybe not so much.

Ever been to a real race? Not so exciting......8471262786956436 classes diffring by age/mods/type/haircolor/maiden name

Combining classes so you cant really watch and telll whos leading who

I've raced.....I've been to alot of races....Racing is boring...How many times can you watch some skis go around bouys

Freestyle is where the fun is at

Yes I've been to quite a few back in day. Haven't been to one recently, but I know things have changed so maybe they're not as fun anymore.

Either way this negative attitude of one is better than the other does absolutely nothing productive for the sport. In my opinion racing and freestyle need each other. I really think if both sides support each other that the sport may actually have some shot at getting back to where it used to be.

And I'm not talking about you Jesse. I know you do a lot to support racing, but the fact that racing is boring is your own personal opinion. I get bored watching the same flatwater freestyle and would rather watch a good race. For me freeriding in the surf is my favorite thing to do with running bouys being my second favorite and riding flatwater as my third favorite. That's just me though.

i never mentioned anything about freeriding nor did i make personal attacks about where you work.:pokey:

i was talking about freestyle and racing in terms of competition.... not rec riding in the surf. anyone who rides in the surf stand up, sitdown, sport, doesn't matter.. your body can only take so much it has to do with stamina

go do a two minute freestyle routine and then go do a 12-15 lap moto for racing and see which one tests your stamina

you are talking about 2 completely different skillsets for 2 completely different disciplines of the same sport.

They both test your stamina, just in different ways...

Oh, and on numerous occasions I have gone and done a two minute freestyle routine and then go do a 12-15 lap moto for racing back to back. Now, that is not fun...........

Freestyle is a solid 2 minute burst of stamina (if you have it), you are wide open, trick to trick and the beggest thing is you get so wrapped up that you can literally forget to breath......... Where as racing you push hard form the start, you get into a rhythm (SP) and push when you are either trying to pass or get passed, then you settle back into your pace....... and you have to set a pace if you plan to finish the race...... There are only a few racers that can actually go 110% for the full laps, no matter what, you still have a pace that you have to run at. The difference between say MacCluggage is that his Pace is going to be much faster than say Donald Smith. They both will be giving maximum effort but it just at different levels.

I think racing is boring also .Whoever has the fastest boat wins .

Follow the leader comes to mind :loser:

Maybe sometime's in sitdown racing, but not on a ski, ski racing takes mad skill's.

I love both racing and freestyle, I like any type of riding ski,

SORRY 4 THE POST I MADE,:nana:

Just because someone has the fastest boat does not mean they will win. Just like in freestyle, you dont need the best ski to win.

Racing does get boring to watch, being in the race is a different end of the spectrum. Freestyle is pretty lame unless you are able to watch eric malone, lenzi, those crazy japanese dudes, ratti, and stoyer. Other than those guys, I'd rather pull my teeth than watch. There are a handful of others I'd watch possibly.

Whats also boring to watch is alot of people who can hardly ride a ski, let alone attempt to freestyle a ski.

And regardless, both are boring to watch. Unless you are actually racing or freestyling it is fun.

Oh yeah, since we're talking about peak powersports, or suppose to, Rick Kantola makes some awesome stuff and Ive heard nothing but good things about his work and innovation.
