I would be hesitant to try it on a newer vehicle, The slightest abnormality will throw a code in a lot of modern cars.

I would say it probably depends on the vehicle. Also, I was stressing the most I ever add at one time is 3-4 gallons into a tank with at least 20 gallons of fuel in it. The times I do it is when the gas has been sitting over the winter and i don't trust that the octane rating is where it needs to be for 185 psi. The gas smells fresh, I'd just rather not chance it.

I've never put BAD gas (old, smells like sh*t, green, etc.) in my truck but I've drained plenty out of old skis. That stuff either goes to the local marine repair shop that will take 5 gallons of gas for $5 or it gets burned on a bonfire.

Also, for what it's worth, I've got a 2007 tundra 5.7L . The engine and engine management system in my truck is the same as whats in the 2016 models.

You can let it evaporate way back somewhere on your property, but that takes some time. Ive done it, but have a empty lot next to my house. I did it because when I called the landfill/recycyle place here, they said call the fire dept., Fire dept. says call the land fill or try auto zone, but that is just for oil. I just kept getting the run around over and over...and over... haha

Now I take it to a large RV/marine repair facility that a friend works at. They have a guy that picks it up in a big tanker truck and recycles it some how and pays them for it. So they dont mind...lol They run it all through big spin cycles to separate oil/fuel/anti-freeze, etc..

How old is too old? I've always assumed pump gas with any amount of ethanol is no good after ~6 months.

Got a couple cans from last summer that I've been meaning to get rid of...

2004 Silverado, 2006 f150, 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi and all drink leftover premix all the time after riding or a weekend of riding. Zero issues ever. Put 95k on the Silverado, 60k on the f150 and 75k on the jeep

Pour it in your car/truck. Or offer it to one of the folks begging for gas outside the gas station.

Or pour it in your friend's car, and tell him you're giving him some free gas. It works well.
