Yippe.....I have an ENORMOUS roll of fiberglass matte at home. B*tch. And by enormous, I mean it's on an old rolling clothes wardrobe thing that's been turned into a glass rolling machine......only not very machine like. More....toilet paper holder like.

Actually though, that's a pretty good score. I have all this matte laying around because my dad used to have a fiberglass room for building race car body parts. Back in the day he raced a Datsun Roadster with mostly fiberglass body parts, and then in the late 80's raced a tube frame, full fiberglass body dodge. Pretty cool stuff....I remember being real itchy as a kid.

 alright richie rich. you win. :banghead:

i wanna party in your fiberglass room. :headbang:

Rich my arse. My family has mostly been pretty broke growing up. The only reason we were able to support the racing for so many years was because my dad owned an auto repair shop, and the two were sort of one in the same. He specialized in Datsuns, and his success with building and racing Datsun Roadsters and Z's for so many years drew LOTS of business.

Unfortunately, we haven't had a fiberglass room for a VERY long time. In fact, we closed our shop recently, so we dont' even have that anymore. But I inhereted an enormous roll of matte (no cloth unfortunately) and big ass buckets of filler. I ended up chucking the filler though because over the years being mostly uncovered, they got real lumpy...I think from moisture.

To get a little back on topic.....LBE and Mike Serlin have a place local to them in Long Beach that stocks resin designed to mix at the same ratio as west systems. What this means is, you can use the west system pumps, with resin/hardner that is literally half the price.

Total threadjack........

but the Datsun 510 and 240Z are largely responsible for the acceptance of Japanese cars as competitive sporting race cars vs. just being fuel efficient people movers.

That's my dad in the red roadster at riverside raceway. *shed a tear for riverside* Notice the number......I wasn't born in 1979...it comes from my dad's race car number.
