Mine's not as nice as Special FX, but I'm doing the same thing. I have a tool kit, extra spark plugs, and tow rope in my front hold.
I used to use one of those neoprene sunglasses pouches that have the draw strings. I put two slits in it and strung it through my hood straps. I'll see if I can find a picture.

Mine is tie to the front of my ski and I stuff the 10' length under the nose cone with a breakable elastic band.

My last ski I just hooked it around the hood straps. They held it tight enough against the front of the tray and I never had any issues.
