Man, thats a shame art is not modifying carbs anymore, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy a new one next time, my carbs were in really good shape. You could contact Novi and see what they'd charge, I know they're not cheap, they too modify a sbn carb. Or, before you do that, if you want some free insight and good feedback, to be honest PM Chris aka Jetmaniac, he sells the ported cyls and has baseline carb recommendations he includes with them. He has been very helpful to me all the time everytime. Just a thought

Art not doing carbs? Not true!!!, talked with him on fri cause he is converting a buckshot for me, he is only suggesting now to buy a new one due to the fact of the cost of a rebuild kit and throttle shaft kit if needed which most do, if you sold your old one and just bought a new one its only a few bucks more to have a freshy

Who said Art was not doing carbs.

I messaged Art and here is the reply I got last night.

We stopped modifying owners carbs, many times they needed extra parts and when all done the customer was only saving 50.00 over a brand new one. A new 46 mm Modified Blackjack carb is 489.95 jetted and the 48.3 mm is 599.95 jetted.
Thank You,
craziest thing I've ever herd

So I have a wetjet intake manifold and a 46mm wetjet carb on the way
Its has a 117.5 pilot 155 main 1.5 N/S 65gram spring supposedly
Should I change this up for my ported 735?

Sorry for the delay...been really busy. I'd fatten up the pilot to be safe at first. Liike I said earlier, I was at a 125 low and it had a perfect burn. But I was running a bigger N/S too...so your set up might be different. I don't really go by the spring but rather Pop off. I had mine at 19- 21 psi pop off.

Keep in mind I was running a 760 cylinder on a 61x case. So you might be pretty close. I'd crank the low speed out to 1.75 turns and make sure she runs ok on some slow runs blipping the throttle (read mikuni manual) and check your plug color. I am no ace at turning but my boat ran pretty strong before teardown for the porting and 62t cases / dual 44's.
