I'm lookin to put a new intake grate on my 1990 SN, which one is the best? I'm lookin for performance in the surf. How bout the ride plate? is best to keep it stock?

Agreed on the Worx 201 and stock ride plate. I would say the D cut might not be for everyone though. Depends on your size/weight, and other things in your set up(like pole length).

dcut the stock ride plate for sure..

i just put this extra RN i have together that i let friends ride...i put a non dcut plate on it at first..i took it for a quick spin and it was borderline unbearable with that plate..i cut the plate and tried it again..night and day difference for wave riding..i forgot how much of a difference it makes

How do they act different from eachother?

non dcut plate makes the rear end feel "sticky" for lack of a better term..when it does slide its much harder to control..its like all or nothing...the dcut makes for a looser feel..also when you slide up the face of a wave it is more easily controlled...plus it does help keep the nose up when your dropping down the face

How about the "J" break or fish hook?
When you dcut your ride plate then break off one side.I have one of those on my ski and it is the best thing since sliced bread.
Never tried one of those worx grates.I have a jet dynamics that works well.

Don't know about surf (Orhio) but I've tried deep scope and double bar. The double bar stays hooked under all conditions, deep seems to be on/off. my .02
