Which parts to switch over?

My friend just bought a 96 superjet that has some aftermarket parts. I am not too knowledgable on all of the part prices on his ski. But he said he would sell me what ever parts I want off of his ski for a good price and I would also give him my stock parts. The motor on my 98 superjet is all stock. Based on these pictures of his ski what are some parts you think would be worth buying and how much should I pay for some of the parts. (remember I would be giving him my stock parts so take that into account of the price.)

Also is that pipe a factory B pipe? I know I would have to re-jet and and switch Cdi's if i bought the pipe.

His ski also has a trim system is that worth buying? 10628419_699844806760558_5035026509715112233_n.jpg 10352879_699844810093891_1261354120979841495_n.jpg

Haha Alight do you think 600 is a good price for both head and pipe? And switch cid's.

Are those riva flame arrestors worth buying?

And a factory b pipe set up correctly shouldn't affect reliability at all should it? Just add about 20-25 hp right? :)

Not sure if he will let me completely swap motors. I'll have to check to see if if the motor is ported at all, I guess if it is then I really would want to just swap it. The hull on his ski is a little beat up it was a race it's whole life and was in a couple world finals. would the 44 carbs be worth swapping I also swap pipes?

Why would he want to swap anything out of it? He just bought it..

Let him keep his bling and go find your own.

Because he bought the ski just to sell and make money. And he would make more money selling me the parts.

what kind of performance gains would i see with the ada head? i know i would have to get the right size domes too.

yeah I'm begging to think that. I road his ski today and it's faster then i expected. still havent opened the motor up to see if its been ported.

How much should pay him to switch my stock motor with his?

The price of the parts. He's a friend, so I'd also minus the price of the gaskets he would need to put it back together.

Also, if you are talented with a wrench, and again, since he's a friend, maybe a discount if you do both motor swaps, and he doesn't have to do any work.

Don't forget to open the ebox and make sure it's not a mess in there.

If not switching motors...

Pipe $600
Girdled head (look up what jetmaniac sells the used kits for) $250 I think
carbs / intake, not sure, haven't bought those, your motor can run great with 38mm carbs so if looking to save money then skip the carbs / intake and keep your 38s.
You will need exhaust gaskets, new head o-rings. You need to do a leak down test on both motors after because loosening or installing those girdled bolts can cause the base gasket to leak.

That's regular retail, not buddy price.

Jetting for your stock 61x/62t with B-pipe, ADA head 93 octane and stock airbox / stock 38mm carbs will be 75/140@18psi, although some might suggest 75/135@32 but mine stuck a piston with that jetting.

Thank you Vumad! That pretty much answered all of my question i had including jetting. i'll see what he says about switching the motors. if he doesn't really want to , I will take your advice. I'm sure that would still give me enough of a hp increase for next year coming from a stock motor.
