The aftermarket heads are thicker. The plug end still sits at the dome top just like in a stock head.

but running the longer plugs in a stock head puts it closer to the dome (if it doesnt hit it...), why would you want to do this. do you think your gaining performance?

Autocorrect is the devil !! Gonna have people slamming pistons into spark plug electrodes.

Personally, I'd go with the BR8HS-SOLID
I've seen people run the longer plugs with the stock heads but wouldn't recommend as it would alter the squish velocity under the dome.

X2 on the NGK BR8HS-SOLID plugs for a stock milled head.

Why in the world would you knowingly run the wrong plugs for years? seriously...

the only reason the ada heads calls for longer thread reach is because of the way the dome is designed. optimally you want the spark in the center of the combustion chamber, which is something you dont even have to think about, you just have to run the plugs they say. retard proof if ya ask me...

because my local dealer never has them in stock, and cause i didnt change them for a year... but ya thanks for calling me a retard for wanting to get back on the water. i never said there was a performance gain, and i never recommended to use them, i simply stated that they would work and not hit.

dont think he was calling you a retard i think he was saying its was just smart proofing to go with proper plug .. I looked at the hs and es with eth head off and it is quite a difference . i am a worrier lol . it would worry me to hell knowing that teh top of my pioston might hit he bottom of my plug .. I went on ebay and bought a FULL box of ten plugs ,,, 10 br8hs for the yamaha sj and blaster and ten br8es for our kawasakis :) .. br87es on my sxr ...

Totally wasnt calling you a tard, Like ang4th2 said, its just to easy to use the right plug. You dont need to go to a dealer, any local parts store is going to have br8es and br8hs. At least i have never had a problem finding them. Now if your anal about only using solid terminals, advance auto parts carries them. I would never throw the wrong plug in just to get back on the water.

No we cant  everyone get tired of hearing me talk about riding or wrenching, thats why i lub the x soooo much.

Correct me if this is wrong...with an ADA head I want the E plug because it's longer, & I should go to the 8's, which I think means it's one step cooler than the stock plugs. Also, what does the "r" mean?

Yea that sounds about right (b8es or br8es). The "r" stands for resistor plug.
