Some are bashing Tigersharks, but most have never even owned one. No problems with my 770 and it kicks butt for a sitdown.

My brother bought one (against my advice) and now its sitting by my workshop getting worked on. What a pain in the ass to work on.:banghead:

I would have to say 701/1100/1200 non pv yamahas are at the top of the list

I would say that most major manufactures (yam, kawi, seadoo, honda, etc) Are all pretty reliable IF there owners take care of them. I personally own 2 94 seadoos and other then minor issues, I haven't had much issues at all! These have aton of hours on them and been in salt water, and fresh. I think the main difference is how you care for them, and ride smart. Every manufature has bad years, like someone pointed out earlier. Lets not forget that the majority of these engines all came from snowmobiles. From my experences Yamaha's are great, and pretty much hands off. I'm not real familure with kawis, or polaris, Seadoos I always felt needed alot more tlc and upkeep with maintence, but they ran there motors alot more on the edge then yamaha does from the factory. I would say anything in good shape, and not sun beat to hell you could move! I would stay away from tiger shark, and wet jet though.

thats my 2 cents

Get a doo that was made after 1996, have it for a season, and only than you'll be entitled to post your opinion on this topic.

I appreciate the input. What would be your "Top Ten Most Dependable Watercraft List "?

This is really an impossible question because I have not owned all brands and years, But I have owned 5 Yamahas 2 Kawasakis and 2 Seadoos. It is much easier to to say what to stay away from than than what to buy. What I am trying to say is go to a site for the brand you are inending to buy and ask about the problems with the ski in question. After you cut out the BS you will get some honest feed back.

I have done my research buying my skis and have never been disapointed.

I have an 2006 rxp! No problems with it! Just have to change the washers out for the metal ones. I know the 710 motor had issues, and I heard about the water injestion in the 951's but the 800's is said to be the best motor they made.

It's not about the motor only, don't forget about all the electrical stuff, MPEM, VTS, fuel sensor sender, gauge panel, etc, etc, etc. :banghead:

Reply hazy, try again.
For 4 stroke sitdowns I would say the most dependable would be the Yammi FXHO or Kawi 1200 or 1500 NA, then the supercharged skiis~ultra 250, then Seadoo. For the two strokes I would say yamaha or Kawi 2 cyl, Then the Ultra 150/STXR, next I would say seapoo 951 then the 787, Then the tripple yamaha. I wouldn't bother with tigersharks and polaris IMHO. It does depend on the previous owner and the skiis maintenance or usually lack of.
