Which ski should I buy? Rickter edge fs or rickter ego fs2??

Hi guys, I sold off all my skis and parts, been saving up for the last couple of months and am planning on buying a ski in may or April. J can't decide which ski to get. Before you respond, here's what I want out of my ski, and my weight, size, ext.
I'm 150lbs 5'8
I ride on local lakes, waves rarely get 4ft on very stormy days, so usually semi flat water riding
I want a ski that can back flip of course, but most importantly it MUST handle well at speeds above 45+ mph and carve really well, when the mood or wave catches me right maybe a backy :)
I'm going to be buying a brand new Blowsion built dasa 950 power valve, and dual sbn46 setup with v force 3 reeds and casa billet intake jetted by Blowsion.
Running a b pipe of course.
Probably going to be running a skat trak mag pump and the proper hooker impeller setup and trim ext.

So which ski best suites me? Money isn't really an issue. I've been considering not going with either, as I really like the Blowsion Sgt kotter 850 dasa superjet, and the Blowsion eagle 760 superjet as well. So you might as well throw them in for voting. Here's links to the two skis...

I'm not rich or spoiled, I'm very patient with my .money and hard working. I've gone through 35 skis in the last two years and I'm ready to spend some real cheddar and not have to touch anything with a wrench :) opinions welcome. No I'm not buying a used ski, if I decide to go that route, perhaps a used hull setup... Hmm well see

Neither of those IMO.

Not a ski anywhere for any price that will stop you from wrenching...if you ride it.

Build a ski FOR SURE!

I haven't spent any time on a Edge yet, but I'm not a huge fan of the Evo.
It can be a little tough to find a ski that both backflips and carves turns and rides well at high speeds. I haven't ridden some of the newest hulls to hit the market but the reason I bought my Superfreak was it was the first ski I ever rode that seemed to everything reasonably well.

Well, since I own one I can tell you that Backie Chan's are built to Flip and Carve... as much as a short ski can carve.

They have a SXR based bottom deck. So you get a LOT of hook on turns compared to other FW hulls. The problem is you can't currently get anything other than Glass if you buy one new, which kinda sucks IMO but if the Glass Chan's are coming in at ~100lbs complete (a guess based on what i've seen) then thats not far off what RRP hull's weigh.

Food for thought...

I agree it sounds like you're going to BLOWsion your money no matter what you decide.

Exactly why I wanted to buy from Blowsion. I've built very reliable skis, that's not the issue, I have the exp. I just want to pay the money and ride. Green and go! Just looking to get feedback. Does the fs2 handle well at speed? They don't give you much of the real specs other than saying "oh yeh, its great for flat water, free ride and cruising" not really any more info. And for that kinda cheddar I want to know the facts... How does it handle at 45+ how does it handle in chop? Videos of top speed runs, then swap out a ride plate and grate and possibly a set back pump setup for different riding styles? Just trying to get more info on the characteristics of each hull on each platform of riding. If I had the money I'd buy a built superjet, built sxr, and a built xfs. But I don't..

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a test ride is priceless.

If you have the chedda to cover a built ski, you have the chedda to go to Daytona and ride some hull's. Just book the flight, you won't be sorry. You're never going to get these questions answered in a reliable manner at the level your asking them. They are all great questions, don't get me wrong. But you just gotta ride the damn ski and find out for yourself man.

I watched the video and the part where mark Gomez says "racing, freestyle, and free ride, this is the triple threat right here" well I'm not exactly sure the extent of "racing" he is talking about, maybe good for surf racing, the hull zemmed to handle very well and still have a very light feel at about 40mph max, but there wasn't any footage of a high speed run which I would of really loved.... Isn't mark gomez on this forum? Maybe I'll ask him a little bit about it..

Great suggestion. Problem is I'm 16, already done with school and everything, but I'm not a grown man yet, can't make that decision for myself and parents certainly wouldn't agree.... I'll see if there's anything local, maybe wave rave?

I rode the Edge at Havasu. One of the reasons I went. I really liked it. It handled speed really well. Carved nicely. I think this ski can do it all. Are you going to do 10 back flips in a row with this hull? No. You are not going to find a Hull that truly does everything. But the Edge is a great compromise. Thanks for all the great info! I couldn't do ten backflips in a row anyway lol. One is good enough, so now I believe I've gotten a lot of info on this ski, and mark Gomez won a race in the surf against sxr's now that's impressive.. I'm really liking this hull, just don't really like the bending down the whole time you ride. Is it really that bad? Back side by the end of the day?

My main concern was to find a ski I can still smoke my freinds on and do maybe a flip and definetly rolls on the ushe. Based on what I'm hearing, sounds like a great ski! And for around the same.e cost of buying one of the Blowsion built superjets, I can shove a casa 950 full billet engine, aluminum flywheel, b pipe, dual novis, ext. Think I might go that route.

He's in a " race stance " most the time but no you don't have to ride the ski bent over like that. Here's the thing...I'm 6'2 I have to have a full tray. I road a Aquabot and I was bent over so bad my lower back was stiff as steel in just 3 mins....I felt so cramped it just didn't feel comfy. The superfreaks, Wcf visions, rickter edge, Krash predators, all the surf based hulls fit my style of riding the best. Could careless about a flatwater flip when we have massive boats and the ocean here though. But with any small flatwater oriented hull your gonna feel cramped, and not thrash turns nor go 45+mph ever.

You sound like a kid with Tourette's in front of a hot products catalog. Ride some skis and don't go off of everyone's opinions...create your own. Check out other motor options besides DASA. If you have Blowsion money you should feel a few things out. Like a few guys said there are some nice skis in MI from mild to wild. Explore your options figure out what you like and don't like. The best thing that will make you a better rider on any machine is gas and oil.
