Thanks all! We've been riding this for a while studying the diff water levels as they are rapidly changing. New dam licensing in the near future should allow an annual scheduled release season. If this happens it will be a def game changer as far as a future whitewater event. Meanwhile anyone who wants to ride this stuff please ride down. It's not ALL rocks and meat grinders. There's plenty of chocolate lines for the beginners. They're usually more fun too.
I would love to come ride that! Are you guys running intake grates or do you remove them? Niagara is 90' deep and you don't touch anything! I would hate to take a nice hull up shallow rapids though! I have seen intake grates ripped out!
Some holes on this river can be up to 100 ft deep. Some shallower than 6ft. Water level is always changing so it def helps to know how to read water. I've rode all year before without hitting a single rock. This year I've attempted a few unfamiliar streams at unknown water levels and have gutted my hull sooooooo ... But no we leave our grates on. Typically no problems there.
I think we spoke once before about some of us wavejunkies coming up from Va to ride the rapids with you guys,Id love to do this sometime, dunno bout class 5 and crazyness like that, but some of the lower new river sounds like a blast
