holy moly Lakes makes a post, You have been very patient waiting and dealing with this crap.

I have had the cyl here True. But with all custom motors, there is very little off the shelf parts that can bolt directly on. These are true hand built motors. These Things take time.

this is true but when you tell someone that the motor will be built in 3 weeks and 4 months go bye???? WTF!!! And have no problem taking the money for it to be built it just seems to me that other riders of "more" importance get to benifit from Paul instead of someone that dished out the cash 4 months ago! Not Cool. just my 2 cents, i feel bad riding your old motor Lance,....no no i don't:beerchug:

Paul built my motor, didn't ask for any money up front... In fact I had to call him and remind him to cash my check several weeks after he did the work.
A rock solid guy, no worries here!!

The whole time thing was explained, he may have expected parts that were on backorder and sure enough two months later they still havent arrived....

I do not know his supplier credentials or track record, nor can I imagine what it takes to put a motor like that together. What I do know is there is a reason you chose Paul, he knows his chit AND he stands behind his product.

That said I can understand how frustrating it is not to be able to ride, but make no mistakes he will work with you to correct any problems or issues you have. The man is working hard to get his livelihood back up in full motion.

Now, I am not sure when the last time you moved was but remember moving is a H-U-G-E stress and he is doing what he can. Not only is he moving his house, he is moving his shop. It takes a lot to keep up with that kind of stress, and I know he has customers calling him left and right. Ouch!

Hang in there, Paul will work with you to make things right.

Other than Paul, who else builds motors that we can use as a resource? Anyone have experience with Zforce? Group K? Whom else?

Doug

Jetworks,Team Scream, TLR,etc.... There are many other reputable builders.

hey, if it where to take 2 years it would be fine, just lay it out as it is so the peeps can plan to get other motors built and not string them along letting them down over and over, the reason steve chose magoo is because of his reputation from guys on this site. we will see what happens. if and when the motor arrives it will be top notch as always i'm sure.

Jetworks - not too many people will preach their name but they do a hell of a job with a great turn around time. they're almost a secrete...

i had a cracked cylinder along with all kinds of other things needed like... bored out the cylinder, freestyle port job, replaced the pistons, new reeds, had to find an electrical problem that turned out to be the coil, replace broken motor mounts, shim the damn motor, set up new cooling lines, tune the little Jetworks flow valve, re-jet/spring my carbs, Art tuned my carbs in their in-house water tank, disassembled my pump to intall a new prop.....

and I believe the turn around time for everything was a week plus a couple days and i think i picked it up on a wednesday. and thats with them having a bunch of skies to do in their shop too.

Watcon's a good place too. Randy is an awesome guy. real friendly and knows his motors. somebody told me he was the one who built Blowsion motors awhile back but no longer does.
