who has an XFT trim system

I bought an XFT trim system a few months ago. I had it on for 2 rides and the cable broke. I now have the installation instructions and need to relocate the tube hole for the cable. Im curious to know when people can pull this system (im no green giant with monster paws ) idle, slow speeds, etc. Does the cable strecth a mile when you pull it? Also where the hell does the spring go?

the spring goes over the the cable rod end at the rear of the ski, so behind the the oem yamaha cable ball end attachment, so when you pull the cable it returns to the neutral position.. Operate the trim lever and system several times while moving the cable to change the angle/bend where the cable meets the steer plate and makes its way down the handpole, you will find there will be a spot where you feel no cable drag in the housing, make note of this position and affix the cable to the steer plate there with cabel ties, this will solve your broken cable issues...I operate my trim only under low pump load, this is a freestyle part not a trim set-up for speed, any trim system with this much throw will not be able to handle open throttle to full trim...And no this cable does not strench in my several years of experience with it...

YAMABOY... im being a tard and dont fully understand what you are talking about with the zip tie/turnplate setup. If its not to much to ask can u snap a pic. Thanks

i've had one for about 3 years. Use it on flat water no problems and its still there when in the sea, although I don't use it unless the waves are very small.
To break the cable may mean that its not adjusted correctly and you're pulling the lever when the the trim is fully up, thus stretching the cable.

I don't use a return spring, the thrust of water takes it back to the neutral position.
