The individual is going to be less likely to post a reply to my question directed specifically at him, if everyone else is quoting me and talking to me instead; this is true. Perhaps the individual is from elsewhere, other than the U.S., and therefore the posts seem “strange”, merely due to a cultural difference. There could be many reasons. If the individual does not reply, my intentions (prior to your post) was to THEN send a private message of inquiry.

His posts are public, so I followed suit; if he had presented them to me personally via private message, I would have reciprocated in the same fashion out of respect. Also, if you thought my post was rude, perhaps you should not have quoted me, agreed, and then laughed. For all you know, it is his boyfriend; although I do not think so, I think both of them probably prefer females, but you never know. It could be his brother for instance.
