I like the little electronics and mechanical parts. I love diesels, except the cost of them. I've had 3 dodges and my favorite( mechanic wise) was my 96 cummins12 valve. It was an ugly ass work truck and ran like a top at 250k miles. I like my 05 cummins. It's nice it doesn't have any emission crap, but still has a lot of electronics though. Lots of power. I want to get a tdi clean tuned and getting 35-40mpg for her to drive, she's got a v8 explorer now and I'm not to fond of that hunk
I tow a ton with mine. Usually a single ski back and forth to the lake, but I’ve towed 3 x2’s on a triple trailer a couple hundred miles no issue, as well as 2 Honda F-12s on a double trailer which was pushing around 2,000 lbs. (recommended max weight for the car) coming of the line it’s really torquey and has no issue pulling the weight. The only issues I have is stuff with a bit of tongue weight, as my car is lowered and it will rub on the rear tires a lot with the weight. Also, I average around 40mpg since I’ve started recording it around 30,000 miles ago. And that’s a mixture of towing, driving hard, fast highway driving, city etc. and that’s also with a bigger turbo than stock and 190% of stock size/flow injectors. The extra power helps but they tow just fine stock as well.
