I haven't weighed anything you own, but just approximations...

So far we're at 900. Hit a bump in the road and your tongue weight jumps up to 1500lbs for a second. Add in any rusting/weakness due to age of the vehicle... The article below is worth a read

All good as long as you've done your research, just want to ensure everybody is towing safely. Lots of idiots who would throw that together and not give it a second thought.
 
Even if he is at 900 lbs and the receiver is rated at 1,000 he is fine. The receiver is rated at the static load not the 1,500 dynamic you were talking about. That's already accounted for in the design.

Plenty of hitch haulers out now towing boats and everything else behind them with no issues.

But yes, it still makes me nervous with mine but having a F-350 makes it a non-issue.

Great thread, everyone! I use a Dodge truck to get the trailer with the 'Blasters to the boat launch, but if we ever need to pull any watercraft from the beach, my 6 wheel amphibious ATV's come in handy. Here's some pics of my Attex 450 Tomahawk 'Lil Truck and Hustler 980 BIGFOOT that I posted on another site that I'm a member of. I also have a Max 6 wheeler (that was built right here in Buffalo, NY) and it's even registered as a boat and an ATV, so it can legally go in the water (it only goes about 3 to 4 MPH in the water).

How are they for towing skis? Enough power to go up and down a hill to a sandy beach?

They do remarkably well on any terrain and have unbelievable pulling power actually. Because they have 6 wide wheels they "float" over any terrain. I forget how many total PSI they exert on the ground, but it's remarkably low. They'll pull a ski up a sandy hill without hesitation. The combination of a torquey V-twin 4 stroke engine, Borg Warner T-20 planetary transmission, and CVT drive clutches make for an extremely stout drive line.
 
The latest setup. The torklift superhitch with four foot extension affords me the ability to also tow the camper with 2 155" track sleds.

Those Screaming Jimmy 2 stroke Detroits sound SOOOOOO good, and with a twin stick, that must be a really fun truck!
Gotta love them. This ones got Jakes on it too. I started out looking for a 1.5 or 2 ton Chevy to turn into a jet ski hauler. Somehow I ended up with a Pete which then turned into two. I’d try to use the 359 to pull them to the lake but I don’t think it would make it back up the ramp without any weight over the drives.
