No, According to the new EPA laws, as of Jan 1st 2012, No 2 stroke powered craft can be legally registered in any of the fifty states. "Competition use only" means that it will only be allowed to compete in an event that has been permitted by some promoter. If operated outside the permitted competition boundaries, then it will be subject to citation just like any other non registered boat.

I dont know if that is true. I have 4 skis to register here and when I had to talk to the ranger they told me i can still register the skis. I guess I will find out next week, when I try to register them.

I think he means, skis (no home built) manufactured after the 1st of january?

I bought my 12sj from a dealer, it came with a title and VIN number, i did not have any proof of a closed course to ride on, i have not gotten to the point of registartion but i dont belive i will have any problems when doing so. hopefully this is helpful info to your questions.
