Who makes a ride plate that I won't break

So I've gone through three ride plates in about a year. It's starting to get aggravating. I ride surf and only in the surf and hit bottom maybe once with the tail otherwise I shove the nose in if I hit. First one that broke was stock but I kind of expected that then my Riva quadrafin and now a brand new jet dynamics that I've had on for about 2 months. It started cracking so I welded it up and now it completely broke on the otherside. Who makes somethig I won't break!

I know this may not be the problem, but just something to check. I see you have shortened you hull and done some glass work there. Where the ride plate mounts to the hull is it perfectly flush/level? Because if its not and you tighten the ride plate down there is some unneeded stress on the plate, and when landing it can starts cracks then failure.
Thats just not normal to be breaking ride plates like that unless there is a problem or your hitting things... especially 3 in a row??

Good luck man, let us know how the next plate works...

That was the hold hull that was shortened. I liked to blame them breaking because of the shortened hull but I destroyed that hull; split the bottom open so now I'm on a stock round nose hull. No shortening 100% original and this jet dynamics plate breaks

IMO you need to stop breaking them! They will all break if you slam your pump in to the bottom....you are lucky that the plates are taking all the impact!

That ski is in the trash now. He has a stock length unmolested RN now.

However he does ride like a nut in shallow water. I think that's why they are breaking.

Tom maybe you need a stainless steel ride plate. And ski!

Stainless is heavy and weak I think. Billet would be sick but $$$ and you will just break something behind it. Keep your ski level in shallow water landings!

Rend used to make ride plates that were sheet aluminum bent via press brake. Not sure where you'd find one of those relics, though.

Quinc, I may sell some parts from time to time. Don't want to kill myself filling orders instead of riding. I'll just build and sell when it fits my schedule.

Or if you know it is gonna hit...toss it! It will hit the water and flatten out! This is a toss in 12" of water....if I would have stayed on I WOULD have broken my plate for sure....

I just hit the wave weird and knew it was not gonna go flat so.....toss.jpg
