Who rides Houston/Galveston area?

I will be working in the Houston/Galveston area, actually about 1.5 hours from Galveston. Should be there either this weekend, or next. Looks like I'll have a day or two off over the weekend, and would like to do some riding. How accurate is the magic seaweed surf report for Galveston? It's calling for 5'-6's Friday/Saturday. If thats the case, and I can actually get in with the oil situation, I'm riding the gulf for sure as opposed to inland lakes, I never see 5's. Shoot me a PM or just reply here and LMK. Thanks!

Just opened my job spec up, looks like it's in Richards, Tx. I'll be about 2 hours, 120 miles from Galveston according to google maps, which is closer than I've been to the ocean since Daytona so it's well worth the drive. Otherwise I'll be driving from Richards up to San Marcos to another employees place to hang out for the weekend.

I'll be back in your area soon too Skinnyman, can't wait to chase some cruisers, that was gnarly. Let me know what you guys figure out, I'll know for sure by the end of the day if I'll be there this week, or next. Hoping for this week after seeing the surf report!!

Thanks, not sure at this point now they are changing the plan up on me, so I may be back up in the Lewisville area by Saturday, won't know until tomorrow or Friday at this point. I need some waves!

When i would surf in galveston i would use g-town surf report, its an older guy named billy who goes out every morning and takes a series of pictures and does surf reports. He is usually pretty much dead on.

As always with my job I have to be prepared for last minute change, this is no exception. Looks like work is put off until next week, won't be heading down until Sunday and I even then not sure what part of Texas I'll be in yet. Will definitely be going back through Lewisville area, and possibly down to Houston. I'll keep you guys posted, can't wait to do some more Texas riding!
