Who runs a modded OEM CDI?

What's consensus? Are OEM CDI's worth modifying to remove the RPM limiter? I have a 650 cdi box, but a 701 engine.

I heard they are only good for so long before they burn out, once the RPM limiter has been removed.

I have the limiter removed from my stock sdi. Its only been that way for a month though, so i dont know if im the best person to talk to about burnout.

I have an old 61X CDI with no rev limiter that has been in five different skis. Still works like a champ.

Don't remove the rev limit, just raise it over your peak RPM.

I thought it was an all or nothing mod.

It can be set up either way, straight jumper or trim pot.
