Other then sexyness, any perks too running cold fusion mid shaft set-up, and which one is lighter?

a big part of the Cold-Fusion mid shaft set up for aftermarket hulls especially is carl moved the bearing a small amount forward on the shaft away from the seal, because most AM hulls do not have pockets on the bulkhead for the bearing to have space, therefore the small movement or large impacts on the drivetrain can break the bulk head out of your new ski. This can also be fixed with the stock midshafts using Cold-Fusions mid shaft spacer. For us surf guys, reliability is key over almost anything. I just saw my buddy Stanton High break his stock couplers two weekends ago. Thankfully he wasn't out in front of the Oceanside jetti in 12' surf. He now has Cold-Fusions. I also had a set of billet ADA couplers that was brand new threaded into a brand new midshaft the coupler gualded out over halfway threaded on and became locked into the midshaft and having to heat and apply crazy force to get it off the couplers were then ruined. You will not have that issue with Cold-Fusion products, that is truely worthy billet.

Setup I found that worked the best with the big cc motors/skis I have built in the pasted...

CF Mid shaft housing. (same reason tanner said, most a/m have a flush or smooth firewall and Carl's mid shaft housing has corrected the problem.. And billet just looks cool, just ha to see after you install it

CF couplers.. Used them from 701 to 1100cc , every ski I have owned or built in the past since CF came out with these has got a set installed.... Work great period...

I know this sounds crazy but the best midshaft I found to work with the big monster power has been SBT... Me, Lucas and few others have killed oem ones in weeks... SBT ones have taken a beating and keep on going

Like crab said the weak link is still the midshaft, it will snap normally right at the coupler threads if stressed so why not run billet couplers to save the weight and have a strong coupler... I've seen buddies smack the bottom, break the dampner rubber and still ride back to the ramp.. Oem = a tow
