i am just lost on my tuning. i had it tuned a month ago then my fuel delivery kept getting screwy so i got a new carb kit. after that carb kit my tune change dramtically. it ran like crap so i started to richen it up which made it better and better but i ended up frying my top end. after i fixed it i went up to the next jet size and i just cant get it tuned. while following group k's instructions it seems like it wants to be leaner. but by riding it rides better and better as i richen it up. no matter what low speed jet i try it rides best at 3 turns out. the top speed seems ok i can deal with that but the low speed it pulling me in two different directions. i dont want to blow up again.

i have a 61x motor bored to 733cc. single mikuni 46mm carb, riva red pipe, 180 psi, prop, lightened flywheel, intake, carbon fiber reeds, msd. current needle and seat is 2.3 with a spring that should net me 15psi pop off. my high speed jets ive had in are 150 and currently 155 which seem ok. but the low speed ive tried 120, 125, 127.5, and 130.

it doesnt ride to bad with the screw at 3 turns out and whenever i turn it in it acts worse. but at 3 turns out the screw isnt even involved in the system. once it hits the top speed screw it rides good and fast. i dont have a tach tho which would help. i dont have a pop off gauge or a leak tester to see if i have any air leaks

Have you done a leakdown test? A leaky motor can cause jetting problems until the cows come home.

I rejetted my ski every weekend for a year and it was just the motor leaking air. It was a new ski but the factory dropped the ball on sealing the cases.

I have the tools. it does not sound like that complicated of a problem. if you wanna arrange some time i can look at it and do a few tests on the carb and the motor to find the problem and fix it

well i found a buddy of mine who has the right tools and gauges to do some tests. i did the air leak test today and it passed. tomorrow were going to do a pop off test. the only other thing i can think of is that something is wrong in the carb. after this i guess ill try and tune it again
