Super Jet Who uses billet couplers on their modded Superjet???

I have billet couplers on my modded Raider but do I really need them on my modded RN Superjet??? I broke a set of OEM couplers on my Raider. Has anyone broke the OEM couplers on a Superjet???

Thanks,

Steve

Yes they break. the main reason people change them to billet is for strength and on a RN you more likely to hit your nose on the bottom causing them to break but, another good reason is if you get a set of cold fusion couplers (Cold-Fusion.com or pm Dangerboy on here) is the fact that they are Kawasaki diameter wich is much smaller then then yamaha style and are drilled out for weight, the lightest on the market. What that does is lower your rotating mass of your motor giving you quicker throttle response, allowing the motor to rev up quicker. It's a great mod and I'd recommend lightining your stock flywheel at the same time. You'll feel an increase for sure.

I have Cold Fusion couplers I managed to destroy three out of the four motor mounts. if i was running stock couplers I'm sure they would have broke. my Billet couplers show very little damage definitely still usable!!. I couldn't be happier with my Cold Fusion couplers...they are a smaller diameter than stock
(kawi style) less weight=less rotating mass and HELLA strong, and they look great.

Same here, use Kawi style couplers if you do switch, smaller, lighter, easier to align (IMO), more clearance for stuff, etc.

running a xsceam 1000cc motor on stock couplers - there recommendation.

need a "weak" link in the chain in case something bad were to happen (like mentioned above, slamming bottom and motor shafting violently, etc).
