why does my ski run like crap after a deep sub?

Im sure it has to do with water in the hull but both my superjet and 550 run like sh*t after a nice deep sub

I usually just park them and take a break and they run fine after 30 minutes or so

both skis running rule 500 pumps turned on before subbing
ebox and air intakes don't seem to be wet when I pop the hoods
kawi is running a K&N with the water cover thing on it
SJ has stock flame aresster

do I need to put in a second rule 500?

guess im gonna try to mod the stock hood and see if that helps
block off the top and front vents with some duct tape for now and drill two holes at the rear up high with 1 1/2" openings

Ive also read about people making a big spash tray above the coupler....maybe try that too
and another rule 500 probably wouldn't hurt

I don't want to buy one of those $300 hood liners yet. a lot of $ and work

My guess is that its a combo of being starved for air and some water getting down the intake. Every time I sub I gargle down some h2o so I save them for when the big tour boats or some hot chicks are watching lol

Its getting starved of air. The carbs can clear that area of air in seconds think about how much air comes out of the exhaust. If I go deep after nosing in a flip the engine will stall sometimes. You also may be pulling water right through the side of the hood and going straight into the carbs if I rev my ski out of the water with the hood on but not latched it gets sucked down from the carbs.
