Why has the price of a used B-pipe suddenly skyrocketed?

Buying new is the only way to go IMO for a B pipe with used prices. I'm starting to get the fever too, but $600+PP+shipping for used is kinda high to me. Oh well, I hate to buy new and just to ride in saltwater. I'll see how I like this Pro-Tec I picked up first.

I've over new pipes myself for salt water riding, as long as it's not too badly dented or scarred up I'll buy used and send it out for ceramic coating.

Once Factory Pipe finds out that used pipes are selling for 600.00 plus they just might have to jack up the price a little, I would. That is a price difference of only 15 percent new versus used. That would be comparable to a used 46 mmm Mikuni selling used for like 260.00 when you can get a brand new one full retail at 299.0. I have seen 46's sell for way more than that.
Have you seen how much they get for single cylinder 4 stroke exhaust systems. It takes more to make a B pipe with the water jacketed cast items and the cnc machining of them. The b pipe isn't being made in very high numbers compared to the 4 stroke exhausts. I think we should not complain because we don't have much choice for a well built and durable pipe. If they do go up in the near future we will be talking about how cheap they used to be NOW.

They are advertised at $600, that doesn't mean they are selling for $600. That was my original point. Unless there has been some value added mods done to the pipe, they shouldn't sell for over $500 used unless damn near perfect condition.

Are the SJ pipes the same headpipe as the Blasters? I bought my blaster pipe last year brand spanking new, but got the last headpipe they had in stock for the season. It would make sense for used prices to go so high if you CAN'T get a new one.

I bought mine new 2 seasons ago and at the time fp was out of the chamber I wanted (blaster mod) and had no immediate plans to get more. After a short panic and about half a dozen phone calls I did end up finding one at Riva. I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but people say they make them hard to get on purpose to keep demand up. Seems to be working.

What is sad that nobody else is making another pipe in this price range with similar configuration....thats sad , having a monopoly on B-pipe dictates the pricing...where is the the all NEW C-pipe with always working adjuster svrews with t handles, headpipe clearance already there for powervalves, adjustable Stinger fropm Mod-Limited ....???

. i was told by coffmans that the equipment is not that big of a deal. most manufactueres already have all the equipment and are making atv/mx/snowmobile pipes anyways so thats not an issue.the issue is the hundreds of hours of r&d and testing that go into the pipes and the little demand these days. i was told that a pwc pipe takes 5-15 times longer to develop than a atv or dirtbike pipe with the waterjackets, water injection and all that. and on top of that making pipes for specific desired powerbands like racers and freestyle guys want. thats why coffmans got outa the pwc game.

IMO Ross Liberty has done one hell of a job playing the supply and demand game for a LONG time now and therefore kept the value WAAAY up. Harley tries to play the game and does well for 10 years at a time, but FP has managed to keep it up for the duration. All FP needs is a lil competition and the playing field will be level again.

Sorry guys I guess I'm responsible for jacking up the price of the pipes

I was the first to sell one for $600 shipped, but that was just ceramic coated for $120 and came with brand new gaskets and coupler. it was $45 to ship so really I charged $555 for the pipe and now everyone else is selling there crap for $600+
