Why i find jet skiing so fun

Not really a crazy interesting topic, but i just have to get this out there. I dont ride to freestyle or race (although i like to carve more and go fast rather than do tricks). Truly the reason i ride is to be on the water. I only run a 550, but thats all i need. They way i like to ride is to fill up my tank to the brim and dissapear for a few hours going lord knows where. I rebuilt my ski, so i dont have any problems with it and have complete trust that its reliable enough for this kinda riding. I dont just ride to fly around and practice skills. I just leave to explore the waters. I love pinning the throttle in deep narrow casms that have weed shooting 7 fert high on each side. Takes my breath away everytime. Just wondering what yall think about this. I dont care where i go or when i get there, i just want to explore. Am i a lonely individual when it comes to the point of riding, or do you guys understand where im coming from

Your definitely not alone, I love exploring too. I love zipping threw creeks, rivers and swamps. I chase and zip around my buddy in his mud buddy. We jump logs, chase gators and go places normal boats and skis could never get to. Sometimes I end up putting the ski on the bow of the boat and we ride around drinking beer long into the night hours.

I totally do the same. So far the 08 superjet has been reliable but the day will come when it leaves me stranded out in budfuk nowhere. Love exploring too!

Exploring is alot of fun but a standup can only go so far. After seeing the same scenery over and over I finally upgraded to a 4 stroke and hitting 120 miles day trips now. Just hope I never break down

I understand where ur comung from, but where i ride, theres always something new. I also can tell how much gas i have left incase i need to ride home. I hate sit downs cuz they cant maneuver like a stand up can. Sharp turns are always needed lol.

Some of my best rides were in the salt marshes around Charleston, SC on my 440 ltd. You could get turned around and see where you wanted to be but not sure which path to take.

One of the places I ride close to my house connects to the Grand River (West Michigan) It is fun to cruise either direction for a long period of time, other than the river smells like poop. I'll find little off-shoots and follow them for a while and end up who-knows-where.

I think everyone has a story or reason why this is an obsession. Me personally was In a motorcycle accident two days before leaving for North Eastern to start my college years. Broken femur (compound) broken arm both bones (compound) finger literally hanging off, lost half my blood supply, skin grafts. Got a sweet helicopter ride where they called me in as leg and arm amputation. Thank God I'm all in one piece. Right after I could walk again, I thought what could I ride and keep me going, but not end up dead(not that skis aren't extremely dangerous) but something without road rash. I bought a 95 blaster an HX then super jet. I was hooked. For some reason or another sold everything, then twenty years go by and I find the sport is still going and at levels I could never imagined. Kind of like MX these day. About two years ago I for a rickter edge with a TPE. Once I got on it went for a nice long cruise around the lake. It was like Christmas in July! That little kid excitement and 20yr old feeling came back. I said to myself maybe out loud this is it! This is what I need/needed. So, that my long winded "why". Whatever it is to you or whoever. It's something you can't explain to the spouse, gr or certain friends. But, who cares! That y u can't fit two on a stand up. I can't ride like some of these maniacs but don't care. One day I'll get to the level that I'm content with, or maybe not and want more like everything else. Love the community, hobby, sport whatever you want to call it. I think it's the same and different for all of us!
