Super Jet why is the 2012 SJ 7 kg heavier then 08-11?

08-11 SJ = 132 kg (291 lb)
2012 SJ = 139 kg (306 lb)

I have tried to find the answer on the web, talking to dealers and even e-mailing Yamaha but still I have no idea why it's 7 kg heavier.
Anyone here that knows the answer?

The hull bottom is a new design and has more SMC surface area to it, so that will probably account for some of the extra weight.

Do a quick search, there is a large thread about this somewhere, As far as I have heard, yes it is.

I think they have been heavier since the 08, I owned a 07 form new and a 2010 new the bottom deck on the 07 was wafer thin, I think this was the main reason for the change in bottom shape i.e the old tooling was worn out.
