Why?

Why did you get into jetskiing? And why have you stick with it?

Any of these?

I found I needed to spend more and more time away from home.
I like to hurt myself - and my bank account.
My ex took the dog, the house, the boat,... so this is all I could afford. Little did I know ...
I prefer liquid water to solid water.
Saw one whiz by and quoted " I have got to get me one of those."
I figured out a long time ago that the term wrenching applied only to motors not hearts.
Money for nothing and the chicks are free.
Wiping out hurts less against water than pavement.
I like to move fast and get fewer speeding tickets.
I like to make waves and could not afford a powerboat
Life's a beach. Or occurs at one.
I am better at solitary sports because I decide the outcomes. I hope to go pro.
I needed an excuse to sing "I've got the power"
My parents told me I would never ride one of those - that did it for me.
It was a natural progression from BMX
My friends got them and were having more fun than I was. I got tired of waiting for their charity rides.
I was given my first jetski.
I had visions of the next big freestyle move.
Was born with the proverbials and needed an outlet.

Always wanted one. I was moving back to my home town and spotted one for sale as I drove thru a little town. I paid cash and tossed it in on top of my couch. That was 15+ years ago.

Grew up riding dirtbikes, broke too many bones, got to many head injuries. realized I could SLAY more GAME by throwing huge stabs and rolls on stand up then I could by sitting in my friends boat. Uncle convinced me to buy a stand up over a dirt bike. And the rest is history. I don't think I will ever stop. The day I sit is the day I quit. Wouldn't rather do anything else. Ohh ya, and the X is an Awesome Community to be apart of, even though I don't post much. I'm always trolling :)

Years ago (25) a good friend kept coming by with an x2 and 440 trying to get me to go try them out.Four attempts later l ago.Two weeks later l found and bought a x2 and a 440 for the wife and l.We went through a bunch of old kawi's back then.

Funny thing was the a/m parts like half pipes for the 550's were so cheap (price) way back and l used to bitch about price! Look at the costs now..............lol

When I was 13, I wanted a jet ski. My buddy's uncle had one for sale so I asked my dad if we could buy it. I hadn't seen it, but he told me, "No, it's the kind you have to stand on. You don't want that." Little did he know...

then when I was 17 I saw a video of Eric Malone (I think) and had to have one, but I read his ski cost 20k, so I gave up that idea.

I finally bought one when I was 23 or so. It was a 650sx, since that wasn't poopty enough, I bought a X2. It's been a downhill ride ever since.

Living around the corner from a Yamaha dealer and still living at home, the girlfriend at the time and I decided a waverunner would be fun. 2 months later it was just lame and boring. Wanted one of the new SuperJets they started making the next year. Followed the races on espn, and lots of local events back then. After saving for a year I was able to get a used 90 SJ. It was barely used and a year old. Back then not having a Kawi, I always seemed to be the odd ball at the beach.
Then, the FX-1 was born. That ski has been the best investment I ever made. Still use and ride them today, and rebuild em when needed.
I just wish I was as easy to rebuild now :)

It was a safer alternative to motocross after breaking so many bones. Now I'm lucky to be one of the members of the best shops around and have great friends in the sport! Especially the guys who call me daily to see how I'm doin and make sure I'm not goin insane since I haven't been able to leave the house since my surgery ! You find out who your true friends are at a time like this and its cool to see that those friends are the same ones I've met through skiing and here on the X!

I was eight or ten years old when my single mother bought us a 90 waverunner 500. That got me on the water and I saw standups and had to have one, so I begged until I got mom to buy me a 91 550, I was thirteen, I would ride a couple tanks by myself on a Saturday. Eventally I grew out of the 550, SeaPoos were next, years later I met some guys that had superjets, I rented a room from one of the guys . I thought he was crazy cause he would work on skis all year long , I ended up buying a superjet off him, that was about seven years ago now and I am so in love with this sport now and have met and became friends with some great people! I feel very lucky to have stumbled back into the sport, so much fun to progress in surf and push each other as friends.

rode a 550 while in college. didn't do much for me.
years later, bought a small boat. got into wakeboarding.
bought a bigger boat. big into wakeboarding.
couldn't get the kids into it. had trouble hooking up with other skiiers/drivers
bought a 750sx off ebay- hooked!
had to buy a wr500 for the kids.
then I bought a 650 SN and my teenage son adopted the 750.
the SN now has a ported 718 motor, C4 pipe, MSD, etc., etc.
love to ride!
