Freestyle Will a atp mini steering system bolt up to a xmetal pole for Yamaha?

I'm not a huge fan of necro-thread-ia, but I'm trying to mount the ATP Mini on an X-Metal pole and it looks like the screw holes will line up but the nub/stub/hub/thing-a-majig won't go through the hole. Do I have to hog out the pole or grind down the steering? Or is there another option? Sorry I'm not much better with the description but I can provide some pictures if needed.

Depends which XMW pole... And if its an adjustable pole it depends if its machined for universal fit for XMW steering with the hex c'sink nut.
Its just aluminum, I had to hack and tap mine to get a Titan / ATP splash steering to work. but it will work

It looks like it has the provision for the countersunk hex nut. Been going at it with the Dremel and obviously the wrong attachment. Made very little progress in the time I worked at it tonight. Might be bringing the air compressor home tomorrow to speed this disaster up.

We have done the conversion from xmetal steering to RRP on xscream poles and yes you have to hog out the center hole to allow room for the nut to fit. We also had to drill and tap the four holes on the pole years ago before they started doing that at Xscream. Works great!

The atp mini interferes with the steering stop on the Xmetal pole. I've talked to Xmetal about it but they want proof and measurements etc.

You have to clearance the steering stop where the plate "passes through it" if you will.

I am now to that point. From an eyeball measurement, it looks like the steering stop/chinpad support is about 1/4" +/- too close to mount without some sort of finessing/grinding and moderate amounts of swearing. Is that proof enough? lol

Dont use the dremmel grinding stones when working aluminum, they load up and the wheel just bounces across the surface of the part until it had enough heat to let go from the epoxy. 60 or 80 grit drums work wonders

there is a way to unload them....find a piece of steel and grind on it for a few seconds and it should clean the bit......maybe...thats what i do when my carbide bit gets full of aluminum
