Will not start

1998 sxi pro,
Was out riding and fell off ski, when i tried to restart it nothing happed. Battery is good. Thought maybe it was a starter solenoid since it only would only click once in the ebox then nothing, so i tried to bypass the starter with a jumper wire from post to post, it still would not do anything but make a faint noise from the front part of engine near the starter. I am also able to turn the driveshaft by hand with the plugs out to rule that out. Any ideas?

More info to maybe help someone with the same issue. I did use a multimeter to test battery and is read 12.9v so i figured it was good but when I tested the battery while trying to start the ski it dropped to 4v… so battery is junk.

Just to chime in with my $0.02 that may come in handy. Recently had an issue on my SN that really sounded like a low/weak battery. Checked the voltage and it was like 12.4v, definitely enough to start. Ended up being my connector for the start switch. It was super corroded and actually wouldn't let the starter motor turn as fast and strong. Seems weird to me but cleaned it out with salt and vinegar and it fires up nicely now.

Just make sure to disconnect battery before cleaning terminals, the salt is conductive and can short and it'll just run your starter until you stop it (learned that the hard way and surely pissed off my apartment neighbors in the process when my 2 stroke was firing away at 11:30pm haha )
