Custom/Hybrid Winter Builds!!!

I'm sure there are quite a few of us who will be busy this winter building/refreshing something so post up your "planned" winter build - then make sure you add it to the ski build up section as you complete it!

(Maybe this will help motivate us to actually finish what we start)




Mine is a 300SX with a 760cc. Just picked up the ski tonight for $100! All stock. Tinkered with it for a few minutes and it's a runner! 150psi in the cylinder.
Ya I know it's been done already, but I'm too poor to buy a BOB so I'm making my own

Plans are:
New custom fabbed handle pole
Custome hp bracket
Moto x style Fat bars
Tubbies
760 ported motor
Wide tray
Footwells
144mm pump
Yam driveline

Hopefully some Cold-Fusion goodies if the budget allows

Plan on refreshing my 94 fx1.The motor has never been apart.

currently i have one sj for flatwater and surf . i picked up an fx1 so now im building 2 sj one for each
surf ski will have fx1 engine sinle carb , light port on barrels ,msd,pipe head, tbm hull i have is already heavily rienforced so i will use that for surf with titan pole lowered bracket wdk hood and few other bits want to keep it simple and reliable oops think iwill need tubbies aswell

flatwater will have mytwin carb engine (once my surf boat engine is ready) heavily ported 760 total loss etc as much power as i can afford ! still getting stuff together for this one have the winter to build

gonna be expensive winter lol. good luck with everybodys builds and remember when your in your garage at 1am with skinned knuckles just realising that engine has got to come out again because you forgot to do something "its meant to be fun"

I will be cutting up my amazing SQUARE.:banghead:. Trying to make it a little lighter.
-3 on back of hull
dip in tray like sxr
carbon reinforce
defoam and refoam
delete rear exhaust hole
come up with a way to make my rickter footholds like xft's
2x2 twill carbon fiber everywhere
and last but not least Jetmaniac 718!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bananajump:

my plan is a 550sx with either a 750 or a 701 and a mag pump. looking for the ski to start with right now.

I got a new (haha) square lined up since I don't feel like doing repairs to my hull. I'll probably just install some footholds and sponsons and repaint it. If I'm feeling frisky and rich I'll put together a limited 62T 701 for it.

WAB - Thats a nice hood mod! I have a similar one that I'm doing with the steering and hood portion off a VXR. How does it fit using the pole bracket going up and down? Any binding or trimming required?

Mine is the center section of a Raider hood glassed onto a cut down SJ hood. I've done some filling and smoothing since I took that pic last winter.
I glassed the bottom 6-8 inches of a stock SN pole sticking out of the front of the hood; so it pivots up & down just like the pole.
The steering is just VXR steering stuck in there for reference. I found a Raider UMI steering this past spring for it.

Are you gonna add gauges to it? A fuel level gauge would be awesome!
