@Roseand here is a video that might help a lot it has some slow motion edits. Just found it on youtube.

Sweet thanks!! Yeah! He tucks too and squats right before he takes off. I guess there's a bunch of ways to do it, but this is the method I've been working on. I'm going to work on my setup wakes and pulling the bars on Sunday, and hopefully I get around!!

I'm pretty sure this is a pic of the time I nosed in off of a setup wake. As you can see my arms were as extended as they possibly could be

^^^^ Perfect example from @hornedogg79 of what I was going to suggest:

@Roseand - From watching your youtube video, you are going way way way too far away from your setup wake. Make the wake, and then turn back into it almost right away. If you go too far out, you end up having to get back on plane to come back to it, then try to slow down to a "wheelie" again, then dip into the trough. It messes up the timing and your momentum is going froward and not up. you should be in a "wheelie" the whole time you are coming to the wake - again, watch hornedoggs vid above.... he turns back to the wake almost immediately, nose is up, blip throttle, dip in... stomped!

Other than that, my hats off to you for even trying this time of year... crazy! great progress!

Thanks for the awesome tips guys!!! I think I'll be able to make some killer progress next time I go out now!!
And to think I was going to land a flip within the first week.. What a joke! I'm exhausted after 2 hours of practice and can barely move without being in pain the next day!

Oh, one other thing I forgot to mention that made it all come together for me... it sounds stupid but it worked:

To get myself to pull the bars to my chest I would scream at the top of my lungs when I was nearly upside down (it happens fast... so probably just after you leave the setup wake as mentioned by EvanKrefSki above). I would shout and tug the bars. That little mental trick got me all the way around! Well, that and slowing down and getting the timing right on the setup wake, and a thousand fails under my belt...

I didn't use anything. Probably because the water was still a little above freezing maybe? Idk.
I don't know what you'd have to do to prevent it from freezing
