650/X-2 winter x2 build

I pulled it all out again and I am replacing the gaskets. I thought the gaskets were good but they were leaking on the intake side. so I ordered gaskets and they should be in steves mail box today. I have The ACT test tomorrow first thing in the morning so I wont mess with it tonight but in the next few nights I will have it together again. Once it starts I will have the finished pictures up, Right now its a little dirty since I have been pulling engines in and out but I will be polishing it and taking pictures when its 100%

Lot more work that I thought

I was really motivated after seeing your first posts. I went and cut off the back moved the steering back and cut everything off the hood, but I did not realize how much sanding glasss and bondo it would take. I finished up the 2 seater seadoo and practiced painting it first. Then did the x2. I can't wait to get back on the water too! Thanks for everyones help so far on my trim lever. Can't wait to see Austin's ski. Wish I had a 750 motor!!!

Yeah lol! I have about 160 to 180 hours into mine this winter majority sanding time, but I could of saved my self alot of time if I would of layed the fiberglass a little smoother!

Your ski looks great! WHat are you doing for a engine?

Just put it all together ANd tried starting it but it keep haveing huge back fire, so I kept trying it and then all the sudden huge bang and pipe flew forward in to my tank and flames started dumping out of the head pipe. I fire distinguished the fire and here am now back on the computor trying to figure out whats going on.

No I wish I was videoing it, I had a pretty good jump when the bang went! I timeing is advanced a degree or two but thats it. All stock electronics too, I tryed a different cdi because I thought my other one had week spark. That might be it I think. I will switch my old cdi in real fast and try it

Yes got it Figured out! Took it out riding yesterday. RAN GREAT, minus some small stuff I need to finish of like stearing and the pump cavatating! I will up load a video in a minute. I will get final pictures when I get the new pump in it in a couple days!

That is sooooo Bad Ass!!! It sounds sweeeet!! I can't wait to get finished too. I put new domes in my bad bones head, on a 650 bored 1mm over, and I'm over 300 psi compression even on both cylinders. What compression are you running? Should i be concerned with running such high compression or is that good? I have all performance parts.. what do you guys think?

You're running 300psi PER cylinder? People run race gas over about 200psi. You'd need a really strong engine to handle that I would think. I know there's a tons of variables for what octane to run, and all of us just do a very rough estimate, but are you gonna be using octane booster in your race fuel? That things gonna be PRICEY to run, though will have a ton of power.

I run at sea level 190psi, and 93 octane. I could mill my head down quite a bit to go higher, but don't wanna be running race gas. I've never heard of running over 225psi, though maybe I don't get out enough lol
