Other Wireless Router Recomendations?

I'm sick of my wireless router not giving a decent signal throughout my house. It's a Linksys (Cisco) MIMO style. I would put aftermarket antannae on it; however, the three built-on are not removable.

I'm thinking about going with a Bufallo WZR-HP-G450H, but I've read that you need to replace the shipped firmware with the 'good' GUI interface for a clunky hard to use one that provides much better speed and range. Additionally, you can hook up aftermarket antanne with it.

I'd like to have a unit with multiple antanna for which a could hook up indoor omni directional bossted antannae on 2 of the connections and an outdoor antanna with an extended cable on the 3rd.

I'm not sure if this would mess up the reception by dividing them up like that or not.

Basically, I'd like one device with great indoor reception and a way to have an outdoor antanne as well without a second device. If I need to, I'll go to a primary device with great indoor coverage and then add an AP or an extender for outdoor.

Anybody research wreless routers lately and have any good info?

Hmmm, after going with wi-fi routers without external antannae before, I'm pretty hesitant to do so. I'm really looking for one that I can put boosted antannea on.

Stick one of these in the middle of the house or 2/3 of the way down the house where there is still decent reception. It rebroadcasts the wireless signal to the rest of the house:

A guy I used to work with used their wireless g model and it worked great.

I have a few of the wireless G models sitting around here. They are sitting around here because they weren't worth the energy they used plugged in.

I've tried different models of D-Link and Netgear before I settled for my Linksys I'm using now. It was the best of 5 different ones I tried after my old great Linksys SRX400 died. That thing had a great signal throughout my house and all the way down to my bulkhead. Maybe I should buy a used one of those off eBay.

Are you in the middle of nowhere, or is your house humongous? I've used some of the cheapest linksys wireless routers and WAPs and I can drag my laptop down the street to my beach and hook up no problem.
