Other Working on a "holiday weekend"

Ok, I half lied. Couldn't stickers made locally, so I ended up taking the day off to pick up my own sticker machine, so now I am able to manufacture my own.

Rebuilding one for the shop and rebuilding one for my garage! boss wants the one for the shop tore down and have everything checked and painted.

Cool. Everyone needs one for their garage. You have 3 phase at your house? Or are you running off a static or rotary phase converter?

I keep looking at hobby mills and Smithy's but the quality and tolerances are so poor. I don't know what a small little CNC would cost or what the crossover point is between profit and functionality. How much do I have to spend to get a machine that is capable of producing product while I walk away? $15-25K?

You could by a used Bridgeport for 2-3gs, as much as a new smithy, but you could do much more on it. We won two world wars and put a man on the moon before CNC's were ever invented. What have we done notable since?

I bought my first CNC that ran at least 10 million parts before I got it for 10Gs. I ran it for 7 years before I bought my first Haas.
