world record

Man! are you guys gonna be jealous!!!! Ill be in Sparks , Nevada this weekend watching the World Record for consecutive backflips! ... yea, cry all you want about the elevation, and loss of power. but all that means is the 'record' will be broken soon... in the mean time, I get to see the FIRST world record set... soo pumped!!!

yea, REALLY disappointed in the freestyle community... not one MAN showed up for backflip record..... there were 10 kids between 12-15 for closed course competition, but not one MAN to show up and do A backflip.. FOR A WORLD RECORD!!!!!!!!! .... seems like freestyle is full of a bunch of primadonna's .........once again, pretty lame! ..am I wrong? id love to hear ... the racing was pretty epic though. GO JIMMY WILSON!!!!!

Considering most of the freestyle competitors are 30+ hours away from Reno I'm not suprised. You have any idea what it cost to do the tour? If they were really doing it to help the freestylers then they pick a better suited place, but the only reason why they stuck it in Reno was cause freestylers don't want to go there. They figured if the brought Guinness then the freestylers would show...

I'm not going to drive 30 hours, spend thousands of dollars to ride in almost 5,000' above sea level to set a record when the REAL flip off goes on at World Finals AND has a payout that pays more than all the national tour stops and world finals together.

Last year Daniel and I drove to Reno to compete and no one else showed up, not even the BOB guys who live like 3 hours away

I agree I can't even afford to make one stop of the freeride tour, I'd like to afford to compete at blowsion surf slam this year. I did the math that's about 1500 in fuel alone from my house in Vegas ... This sport costs a lot and big props to the guys who make it happen... I don't blame you Jace for not wanting to make Reno too small of a stop for everyone

well, yes, I understand what it costs... Dustin Motzouris' brother came from south Africa, and the Aswar bros form across the country ( tho their trailer came from Indonesia, lol).......I just think its ridiculous that NO ONE could show up and do TWO back flips and be in the Guinness book. just sayin.. it woulda been cool ;) ... And still glad to hear everyone's opinion

oh, and the reason you cant go 'goof off' on the water ( Buzzard), is because the race venue (Sparks Marina) is a no-motors allowed lake. the only two events that allow motors are the Aquacross and wakeboard tourney.... ....... were 30 mis from lake Tahoe, so I guess the powers that be think they are just entitled to protect a pond that was originally a hole in the ground called Healm's Pit. ... but that's a whole different post, lol

Next time kick me down a couple Gs and I will gladly come

...And its funny to hear guys complain about a 'couple grand" when they ride a 20g+ boat.. the REAL problem is no one can handle the 'challenge' of the elevation...which leads me back to the post that seemed to piss everyone off: Freestylers CAN be premadonnas........just wanna ride in 'perfect' power conditions. challenge yourselves, and open some eyes to our sport that don't live at the beach. im pretty sure stand ups would make more of a come-back, and in turn, makes things more affordable for the sport in a whole, if you talented riders would adapt to different situations ( i.e. elevation) and show what these 'skis can do, ANYWHERE. this is a great sport, and it only gets better w more riders (duh), so lets not forget that goal :)

I had to take a deep breath before answering this. Yes @onlyFX-1 is right. We have our fair share of challenging conditions. I spent most of my time in P-cola getting pummeled by 10 foot waves. Still got my butt out there the next day.

By the way @Constntparty we are regular guys with jobs, families and responsibilities. 60+ hours of travel to Reno is not realistic for an average Joe. That's 2.5 days of travel alone, not to mention what Jace said about the thousands of dollars it costs in fuel, food, hotel, etc. We already pretty much re-arrange our entire lives for the sport. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

What about you man? You have an SJ in your pic. Why didn't you sign up and compete?

It's his lucky day!
I just so happen to have a DVX1200rr he can buy to go set that record he is so obsessed with.
Pm me and we can get the ball rolling.

Good thing is, all I want for it is money which doesn't seem to be a problem with him. I'll even cut him a deal $39,500

But hes complaining about you guys riding big money skis hes too high and mighty to ever buy one. You guys do more for this sport than he will ever realize and he should have reread his own post you guys ride 20+ $$$ which can be very touchy why would you completely rerune your ski for elevation just to have to retune it for the 99% of the rest of the tour. Hes just mad because he dreams of flipping and didnt even get to see his first flip ever boo hoo
