sooo, my super jet had abit of salt sitting in the motor and when i went to start it a week later it did not turn over bugger. im not keen on a rebuild as i have no money at moment so i try poring a couple liters of wd40 down the carb. 2 days and much massaging later and i can hand spin crank freely with no odd noises at all,

iv started it a dozen times and it runs sweet on trailer Should i put it in the water tomorrow and see how it runs ....has anyone had luck with doing the above?

I wouldn't run it at all. If you do, You will eventually have a catastrophic bearing failure in the crank that will wipe out major parts. Like broken rods through cases or cylinders.

It's way cheaper to do a crank, bearings and seals.

Maybe it was rings stuck to cylinders and you can run it and it will be ok. Maybe not. I wouldn't chance it, but I can see how a broke kid would.

It won't last long...

You skip out on a rebuild, crank eventually let go and take out cases and jug. Now you are pouring money into the ski. You eventually become financially unstable. Your house ends up going into foreclosure, you end up becoming an alcoholic which ends up into a fight which lands you in prison. You then meet Bubba the black burden. You get raped, and eventually you become everybody's bytch.

You do not want to become everybody's bytch.

I suggest the full rebuild.

I personally would run it so I would have a legitimate excuse to upgrade to tell the misses when it blows she doesn't like me spending money to fix something that isn't broke

You might get away with it for a short bit but the odds are better that it will tank and take out even more parts that you can't afford. I have been there myself and ended up needing a new set of cases, a crank, new pistons and one cylinder sleeve. I ended up tossing the engine and just starting over with a new engine.

do u mean it was bogging out? I'd think its not bogging because of the crank. Tell you what, verify that ur crank has ZERO play in all bearings and is not rusted, if it passes, you should be ok. Hell I'd run it if it "passes" the test ^
