Yea, it is used mostly in salt water however, I do wash it VERY WELL (lol) after words and never had this problem in the last 3 yrs till now. But to answer the battery question, I did try using a battery from another ski that works for that ski right before hand...so I would think it is not the battery however I will still give it a good charge before hand.
