I have some cut triangle green on black turf [about a sheets worth in 2 pieces]. I wanted to try selling or trading it for the reverse, black on green. So I went to hydroturfs website to see current pricing to gauge what my stuff might be worth used. $115 for a single freaking sheet of foam!!!!!! WTF how does simple foam cost this much?

Seriously Bad Turf ?

I would say someone needs to look into importing Jettraction turf from Brazil but it looks like they have closed up shop ?
I would also ask how do you mess up EVA foam , but we already know the answer, you have it made in China.

How is hydro turf made anyway? Is it as simple as milling a mold, heating it and pressing some Eva foam? I know the cut stuff is different but I don’t even think they make cut turf anymore. I wonder if someone with access to a CNC mill (cough, me) could make their own hydro turf?

...Suckage on a grand scale. Glad I bought more than I needed 5 years ago. Enough for a second turf.

I switched to molded turf because it lasts so much longer than cut. After 4 years, the only spot showing wear is the lower side walls where my shoes come into contact. Everything else is still looking GREAT. I had CUT turf from 2015-2019 and it was ragged after two years, scary after three.

I've never seen the cut turf hold up for more than a season or two. Wayyyyy too much work for that. I've only ever used molded turf. In fact I always used to get the b stock for basically half of the price and never noticed any difference between it and the regular stuff

According to hydro turf when I reached out couple months they have not changed their materials and said that nobody has complained that they weren't as durable any more.

I am working on a turf solution, just trying to find a good supplier for raw materials.

Few tests I have received I don't think will hold up in the long run

A local boat reupholstery shop by me just started carrying some turf for boats......not EVA......I forget the brand. BUT, they had a custom cut piece down on the floor in front of their sales counter and the guy told me they were getting their CNC figured out. They will be able to cut in anything you want.

That gym or shop stuff that links together in 2x2 squares is what I've been using for under pad but it's very similar to some old thick aftermarket tray mats for 440 550 that I got. Gator grip was way better than hydro and had a huge selection of colors. Too bad it's long gone

My cut turf lasted great wear wise, I just wore all the green off so its just black now. I figured if I got black on green, I won't wear the black off and if I did its still green anyways lol.

What about using gator step?
Had my jetmate all done up in it.

Really nice stuff and it's what a lot of boat companies are using for traction.

Seems like they could come up with a competitive higher quality product.

Theirs is PE and not regular EVA. Supposed to be tougher, not absorb water, hold up to heat better, etc.

Polyethylene is what Trex is made out of , I wonder what the differences in materials are ?
