not slamming anyone just trying to explain why i think it wouldn't work for the xgames..not enough guys can keep it interesting, not saying i could either!!.(like i said in my posts earlier in this thread months ago, if you were at surfslam you would understand, waves were good for the last day, all the top rideers were there and it was still boring to watch).....maybe a bunch of freestylers in a wave pool might be the ticket :261:

I tell all my buddies (none ride) who golf and snow ski/board that surf riding is a hundred more times fun to do than it is to watch. Being on the beach at the bongfire drinking cold ones is wayyy more fun for them than watching me/anyone ride. Then they go golf.....

I was at surfslam and when I was done riding at noon I was bored stiff till about 5 p.m.

your the biggest hater in the bunch!! :bsflag:
I rode old creek rd friday and it was only slightly better. You are very passionate about surf freeride and thats good! What ,you don't want to know about the new move? There is the naming and that's always fun. I have not even pulled one off yet. It's up for grabs . Who ever can do it first can claim it. Maybe somebody in France has already done one.

Hey Andrew, Alot of guys don't know how to surf(let alone surf ride on a ski), so they don't understand the intricacies of calculating a wave for slashing/floaters/GOOD RE-ENTRY(ha ha ha)/ etc. so they don't appreciate the SURF riding as much as the trick part. My point was that I just don't hear alot of flat water guys trying to push or convince everyone at how difficult and better it is to do a Rodeo or a no-handed barrel roll, around the world, or a flatwater twist or backy/triple backy/triple barrel roll etc. on flat-water. when there aren't any waves I still look forward to riding either bouy's or flat-water freestyle. Of course I wish there was waves everyday. Someday there will be an Eastcoast/westcoast freeride comp so that EVERYONE can show what they got. My previous post was directed at a few people not just you. I've seen you ride and from what I saw you are a surf(wave riding) shredder, also much props for getting the front page of the mag. for that Puerto Rican trip(I'm half Puerto-Rican, I've surfed there but have never rode a ski there). Keep on shredding.

I love surfriding and have major respect for it, but I get bored watching anyone ride in about 5 min. THis sport is like golf, fun to do, but boring as hell to watch... and I have seen all the best in the world ride. I probably have every jet ski vid known to man and never watched any of them more than once... My thrills come from watching people while riding and feeding off each other... that's the SHiiiizzzzznit in this sport!!!

Nick your usually right, I agree, its Definitely better to be riding than to watch someone riding. Last weekend in the gulf we had 3 great days of waves!

you will have to "go wrong" to do this right.

spill the beans!!!!!!!!
:sneaky:
You will have to use a wave that is steep if its not you will go out of the back of the wave. The lip of the wave is the only thing that will change your direction. When approaching the wave you will need speed because as soon as you start this move the ski is going to scrub speed very rapidly. You know how when you are riding on flat water (arrrrrrgggggg) and you turn the bars rapidly and chop the throttle the ski goes side ways. If you turn to the right and chop the throttle the left side of the ski is going in the direction you are traveling. So you are approaching a wave that is breaking left for example. You approach the wave a little more parrallel than a re-entry or hard snap under the lip.You will now turn the bars to the right chop the throttle and get the pump unhooked and the ski will be going sideways on the face of the wave towards the lip. The left side of the ski will be going towards the lip and if done correctly the lip will help you finalize the move with a left turn and hard excelleration. This has proven very difficult on my very weak 650 ski.I hope this makes sense. I have gone over the falls with my ski in some strange positions trying to pull this.I really believe that it is possible. If you can do this you will be the coolest person in the world in your own mind. What do you think?:scratchchin:This move is stolen from skating pools board sliding the coping.Name ? "go wrong" The nose of the ski is not pointed in the direction of travel and there is alot that can go wrong. ha, ha,ha "Prostate exam" I won't expound on that.
"fat lip" , "suicide" never turn your back on the ocean. "B*tch slap" I hope I dont get in trouble for that. Other names? :scratchchin:

I forgot my "lunch money".So I will have to go back.

spill the beans!!!!!!!!

It's easy to go from the floater and boost off the top of the wave and land in the impact zone or just in front of it. How about as your do the floater you boost back on to the open face of the wave, not out on to the shoulder.Very high probability of a low side pearl. If you are already doing this, you are the man. I would like to name this....................... wait for it.............................Lunch Money. Must put aside the thoughts inside your mind that says you can't. Take the red pill.
