I wonder why they have yet to introduce freeride stand up comps in the x games. Most ppl do not realize what you guys are capable on these skis. I think it would blow their f ing mind.

I think it would be a wicked idea. You could have a big air comp, I would assume you would start seeing a quicker progression like fmx did years back. More integrated tricks into backies and such. But flatwater and surf would be 2 totally different deals.

Wow...just read that whole thread. Watching strictly surf riding is sooooooooooooo lame. I think the unanimous best vid ever to watch was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zlpYiESDRI ...and that was in 05...just goes to show some people in Wilks thread in 07 didn't have a clue as they claimed to have.

i dont understand how sleds are in the games, while ski's aren't. In freestyle AND racing, ski's kick sled's asses imo.

heres some of my ideas why skis arnt in the xgames.
i think that sleds and bikes are in the xgames because they can compete in a controlld environment, basically setting up and ramp and letting them hit it. surf riding would be harder because u cant garrantee there will be waves that day.....on the other hand i dont see why they cant set up a pool for some flatwater stuff. mayby a ramp i duno
also, if you notice in the xgames every single rider and there sled/bike/board are completly coverd in sponsors, (redbull, monster, target, etc,etc), i have a feeling that these huge spnsors basically finance alot of the event and competition expenses, mayby if these company sponsored or were more involved in freeride/freestyle skis wed see some more ttelevised events.

It all about exposure for the sponsers, If Daytona, Havasue and other events could get local and cable TV time the $ will come, maybe DJ and others could produce something the TV people would bite on, if it gets good feed back then we can start rolling in all the masive amounts of cash the sponsors will be throwin at us (let me dream)
