Holds less water also Charles....not just the savings from the metal

Not if you run the stinger dry which most of us do also. A JW valve and/or a restrictor doesn't let much water accumulate. I don't hate the thing, I just find it interesting and a bit hypocritical that the same people that bag on AM waterboxes for any other boat say this one rules. I've been around several and they make a lot of noise, especially in conjunction w/front exhaust. My boat is fairly loud with the waterbox dried out, but much less obnoxious than the ones I've heard w/the xmetal. Just my opinion.

its easy enough to add 1 or more injectors after the box to quiet it down.

its still the best box out there, especially if youre running dual exhaust.

my tdr box is loud, but its solid!

Perhaps if you exclude the OEM roundnose box. Solution looking for a problem IMO.

well, i had to get a new waterbox when i was still on a square so i figured id buy one that could work in a round if i ever decided to get one (which i did). TDR fits that description, but id get a XMetal if i had to buy another for my roundie.

loud exhausts save lives.

That's bullshiat right there as I drive towards loud motherfuggers on their obnoxious harleys .A 1 ton van can mow down a whole fleet of harleys and it feels nothing more than a pothole :haha:
Can't hear em anyways with my 1000 watt system cranking up some serious metal

Seriously now ............
Should I get rid of my Jet Works valve if I get the X metal box .I could use it on my Blaster instead  and save $50

OEM stuff is so expensive that's why I looked aftermarket here .I never even looked up the price for a new OEM RN box or even thought about the noise difference but doesn't Pat offer a lifetime warranty or at least a couple of years right .Correct me if I'm wrong on this but I know his pole setup is lifetime but maybe not the box because of backfires and such that could blow it up .

I would prefer something quiet but I'm gonna go with the X metal on this one and support XMW .I really dig his pole setup and steering .Best on the market .

I can always throw my stocker back in if the XMW is too loud if Pete can get it welded for me but I've heard that is a tall task especially for free

Yes you can run a restrictor instead of the Jetworks valve, (most of the time I run jetworks valves as they won't clog very easy) go ahead and put on your Waveblaster! I run a quick connect restrictor kit on my full out competition set-ups, but an old needle valve seat works o.k. too. start w/2.5 size and it won't be as loud and the resonator that we developed lets the water push through and dosen't build up as much backpressure.

Lots of other stuff gets discussed here not just ski's.
I just don't see how having a loud pipe saves lives on a ski but MAYBE on a Harley .
By the time someone would here your exhaust it's too late .
Please relate

if by the time someone hears your exhaust and its too late, the exhaust obviously isnt very loud.

one day at green lake, when paul was practicing his holeshot and skysurfer was testing his newly bought sxr, skysurfer and jetski crazy were going full throttle 90* from eachother, they didnt see eachother, but skysurfer heard pauls exhaust from his right ear and dumped the ski to the left. it wouldve been ugly if he hadnt.

if both exhausts were stock/quiet, there wouldve 2 dead or at least severly damaged jetskiers on the water that day.

therefore, loud exhausts save lives:biggrin:

I weighed a few things yesterday on a shietty scale.

oem WB 6lb
oem hose running to back of boat 4lb
Havnt got the rest of ithe exhaust out from under the tray, but by going to front exhaust only I should be lossing 13-15lbs "depending on what the rest of it weighs.

I will be running a scupper through the old exhaust side of the boat.

Oem tank is about 6lbs as well, going with a race cart tank should only weigh a couple lbs at most.

5lb battery vs 12lb thats another 7lb saving.

Without touching the hood that is about 25lb lighter then stock.

I will be reinforcing the entire hull with Kevlar, and I will be using something other then foam for flotation in the rear. Should be interesting to see how light this boat will turn out. It will never have trapped water in it again!!!!

He may have been on an sxr, but I don't think it was his and he was there with his friend who was buying a roundnose.... but that doesn't really make a diff in the story...

I prepared to witness a tragedy in those few seconds before Greg turned left.

Loud is bad !!
It takes only one person complaining about noise to out weigh 100 people saying it "dosent bother me".. lakes or ocean makes no difference.. the best thing is to be un-noticed with noise.. the power sport people will see you and be intrested.. the other people will not notice you !!
This subject has been gone over everywhere in all motor sports and always comes to the same conclusion.. Loud is bad for everyone ! Loud gets places closed for riding ! Loud wont save a life if you cant ride there !!

actually, broken legs and death is what gets people booted from waterways.

loud exhausts do not matter in the everglades, oceans and industrial areas.

i will agree that they dont belong in residential areas.
