Loud is bad !!
It takes only one person complaining to out weigh 100 people saying it "dosent bother me".. lakes or ocean makes no difference.. the best thing is to be un-noticed with noise.. the power sport people will see you and be intrested.. the other people will not notice you !!
This subject has been gone over everywhere in all motor sports and always comes to the same conclusion.. Loud is bad for everyone !

except for the guy saving 13lb in his boat from that loud exhaust:haha: i plan on competing and there is only one lake around me way back in the woods.......never have had any trouble at Sebastain....just go by the laws.

My skis gona BRAAAAP! Good thing I ride with a helmet.

I think riding smart saves lives and if those guys would have hit each other that would have been their fault for not looking all around them .

My neck hurts at the end of a day of riding from looking around so much .

If your gonna ride WOT and not pay attention to your complete surroundings than it's your own fault if you get killed or hurt.:crutches:

Are you seriously saying that the only thing that kept them from colliding was that one rider HEARD the other?!? :bs2: WTF were they LOOKING at?!?!?! Sounds like "Loud Pipes Create Bad Riders" If it was two renecks on a couch we'd all be jumping at the chance to call them stupid idiots. I'm going to go ahead and call them stupid idiots.

Loud pipes close riding areas.
Nitwits who don't watch where they are going and cause accidents close riding areas.

I weighed a few things yesterday on a shietty scale.

oem WB 6lb
oem hose running to back of boat 4lb
Havnt got the rest of ithe exhaust out from under the tray, but by going to front exhaust only I should be lossing 13-15lbs "depending on what the rest of it weighs.

I will be running a scupper through the old exhaust side of the boat.

Oem tank is about 6lbs as well, going with a race cart tank should only weigh a couple lbs at most.

5lb battery vs 12lb thats another 7lb saving.

Without touching the hood that is about 25lb lighter then stock.

I will be reinforcing the entire hull with Kevlar, and I will be using something other then foam for flotation in the rear. Should be interesting to see how light this boat will turn out. It will never have trapped water in it again!!!!

Giving in to reinforcement huh???? Did UR hull crack? And on the exhaust wght, you still need hoses and a waterbox for front exhaust, no way you will save 13# in that conversion, and dont you ride in surf, will cart tank hold enough fuel to get out an inlet?

Kevlar is light. My hull is still perfect, and with the little bit of weight i am adding I will be taking out alot more! I will guarantee I loose over 10 lb with the x-metal WB and front only exhaust over the stock exhaust setup. I will get more accurate lb#'s tomorrow. I will be starting a build thread as soon as I get some dig. pics. I am up to a little something different then going back to foam that will eventualy get wet. It still wont sink....dont worry.

The tray will be completely out of it tomorrow, I cut it at the top rails.

Kevlar is light

Yes, it is. How much lighter than doing the ski with glass? The major weight savings comes from Kevlar's lesser capability of holding resin. But, the regular slather method :haha: doesn't take advantage of that.
Here's what I am trying to say: Don't use Kevlar for weight savings. You will be sorely disappointed.

Foam doesn't weigh much either so your not gonna save anything there .

A pint kit weighs 32oz and I used only 3/4 of that to foam most of the back of my boat .A pound and a half worth .How much can you shave from that .
The trick is keeping it dry .If you properly seal everything up it won't get wet .what are you gonna use :boggled:

It's fine - just don't kid yourself thinking it's lighter, or stronger.
It'll look prettier, if you do it right.

And that's about it.

if you have enough power you want notice the weight savings. your going after.
and i was going to do the front exhaust. but bossbailey runs xmetal i on his and god it sounds like a small airplane. its kind of anoying after chasing the same boat at lanier for an hour. he put up a post before he bought it. and everyone says its a little louder then stock. it sounds more like a 750sx with a coffman rocket series pipe.i really wanted it before i heard his. my friend has a 6 mil lamey 225 psi tdr water box tl loss everything .and the first time i saw bailey pull up on his ski. i thought it was a monster engine it sound louder then jacob06 lamey set up. with jw flow valve and bailey has a stock ski with a b pipe and xmetal exhaust. thats it. and its that loud.

Still waiting for my X metal waterbox and Pat doesn't return phone calls .
paid october 28th and today is November 25 and obviously won't receive anything until at least Monday the 27. 1 month to get a waterbox seems ridiculous .

Pat please call me back to let me know if it's shipped yet or I would just like a refund
